Courtesy of Dennis DeYoungDennis DeYoung fans will get to hear new music from the ex-Styx singer/keyboardist this Friday, March 29, when a video for a song called “Proof of Heaven” premieres.

According to a new Facebook post by DeYoung, the tune — which he recorded with Ides of March frontman and ex-Survivor member Jim Peterik — will be the first single off the forthcoming album by Peterik’s star-studded World Stage project, Winds of Change, which is scheduled for an April 26 release. The song also will be featured on DeYoung’s next solo album, expected to arrive later this year.

“The song ‘PROOF OF HEAVEN’ was originally written by Jim and me for my album but Jim wanted me to sing something on his so I suggested we put this track on both albums,” Dennis explains, then adds, jokingly, “It will also appear on the new Beatle album. (Fake news).”

DeYoung notes that the track “is not indicative of the overall style of music on my album since no one track could do that but it should absolutely sound familiar to all Styx fans.”

Winds of Change also features contributions from REO Speedwagon‘s Kevin Cronin, Loverboy‘s Mike Reno, Night Ranger drummer/vocalist Kelly Keagy, and 38 Special‘s Don Barnes and Danny Chauncey. The album also includes a track boasting archival vocals by late Survivor frontman Jimi Jamison.

Meanwhile, DeYoung recently added a bunch of dates to his 2019 solo tour schedule, which now extends into November. Some shows will be joint gigs with Night Ranger, while many others will feature Dennis celebrating the 40th anniversary of Styx’s 1977 album, The Grand Illusion.
