Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones recently revealed that he and the group’s former frontman, Lou Gramm, had discussed getting together to finish some uncompleted songs they began working on years ago.  However, Jones says he and his old band mate haven’t moved forward with the project just yet.

“We’ve talked about it again recently, and it’s just a question of finding the time,” Mick tells ABC Radio.

Having said that, Jones seems optimistic about the collaboration happening before too long.

“Lou is kind of semi-retired from his solo stuff,” Mick notes, “so that should make it a bit easier as far as finding time to do it.”

Meanwhile, Jones says he’s hoping Foreigner will schedule more special shows reuniting the group’s surviving original members, like the shows they did occasionally over the last two years. Those concerts featured a set by the band’s current lineup followed by a set where Jones was joined by Gramm and three other founding members — drummer Dennis Elliott, keyboardist Al Greenwood and multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald — plus ex-bassist Rick Wills.

“We’ve had a lot of success with that format, and people…have been very happy to see all the old members,” Mick tells ABC Radio. “It’s wild…I look over on the other side of the stage where some of the other guys are…and I’m thinking, ‘Wow, haven’t we come a long way? And we’re still here!'”

Jones adds, “I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’m ready for more, and I’m sure we’ll do it. It’s been a great vibe amongst the guys, and there’s no friction or resentment or anything…It couldn’t be a better atmosphere for working in.”
