The clip shows DeYoung and Peterik, along with musicians from Dennis’ touring group and Jim’s World Stage project, performing the song on a soundstage as animated cosmic explosions, comets and other galactic images are projected behind them.

The song itself is a soaring melodic pop anthem with prog-rock elements reminiscent of some of Styx’s classic tunes.

As previously reported, “Proof of Heaven” will appear on DeYoung’s as-yet-untitled forthcoming solo album and the new release by Peterik’s World Stage, Winds of Change, which is due out on April 26.

In a Facebook post about the video, Peterik declares, “Can you tell that Dennis and I are having a blast singing this song, reveling in the many years we’ve known each other and celebrating the musical camaraderie and mutual respect we’ve developed over the years? The fun we are having is unmistakable!”

Jim adds about the tune, “The lyric of this song is certainly meaningful in today’s world: looking for the best in everyone, the Heaven right here on earth.”

DeYoung also posted a Facebook message about the clip, saying, “Hey kids I hope you like it. As I said before this song is not indicative of the music on my album, no one song could accomplish that. It’s just one of many different styles, like a Styx album.”

Winds of Change also features various other musical guests, including REO Speedwagon‘s Kevin Cronin, Loverboy‘s Mike Reno, Night Ranger drummer/vocalist Kelly Keagy, and 38 Special‘s Don Barnes and Danny Chauncey, plus archival vocals by late Survivor frontman Jimi Jamison.
