The band will launch a summer tour that kicks off with a June 27-29 stand in Park City, Utah, mapped out through a September 15 performance in Eugene, Oregon. The first several shows on the trek will feature Hot Tuna playing as an acoustic duo, while most of the remaining concerts will showcase the group’s electric lineup — Kaukonen, Casady and drummer Justin Guip.
A number of interesting opening acts will join Hot Tuna along the way, including ex-Traffic singer/guitarist Dave Mason, the David Bromberg Quintet, and the bluegrass duo of Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley.
Meanwhile, Kaukonen, without Hot Tuna, will be playing with Phil Lesh & Friends on June 11 and 12 in Port Chester, New York, and has a trio of shows lined up in late September in the Midwest with guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel.
As usual, Jorma also has concerts, workshops and other events scheduled at his Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy, Ohio. Visit FurPeaceRanch.com for more details.
