ABC/Randy HolmesMetallica has shared a new trailer for S&M2, the new concert film documenting the band’s upcoming orchestra-accompanied shows in San Francisco commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 1999 live album S&M.
The clip begins with “Not so long ago in the city by the bay” — a clear nod to Star Wars — before transitioning into archival footage of the original S&M shows mixed with modern video of the metal legends in action.
The S&M2 shows, which will also mark the grand opening of SF’s new Chase Center, take place September 6 and 8. The film, which promises to include exclusive footage not seen anywhere else, hits theaters for one night only on October 9.
