Michael Tullberg/Getty ImagesPoison frontman Bret Michaels brought some holiday cheer to the Bahamas and Puerto Rico this past week by delivering toys, supplies and meals to families affected by Hurricane Dorian earlier this year.

People reports that as part of the Bahamas trip, which was organized in partnership with the Paradise Fund, Moore Charitable Foundation and Operation Airdrop, the rocker also brought a nine-year-old girl named Emma back there to be reunited with her family after she was displaced by the storm.

Michaels has long been involved in a variety of philanthropic causes.  As he tells People, “Charitable efforts in every single city I play in since the beginning of my career until now, both solo and with Poison, is part of who I am and what I do. This year, we’ve done so many amazing things but I was honored to partner with Paradise Fund, Operation AirDrop and Toys for Tots.”

In conjunction with his visit to the Bahamas last Friday, more than 10 planes brought food and cooking supplies,  as well as Christmas trees, decorations and gifts to families in island nation. Bret notes, “I’m bringing lots of guitars and music equipment to them as well.”

Bret also visited Puerto Rico on Saturday, where he teamed up with the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation to deliver toys, supplies and more.

As previously reported, Michaels and Poison will join Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts for a massive U.S. summer tour that kicks off June 21 in San Antonio.
