Frontman Ray Davies writes, “I just wanted to wish all the…Kinks Fans Family a very happy Christmas & New Year. It’s that time of year when our thoughts go out to all our loved ones — including those who are no longer here to share it with us.”
Ray, who last month took part in the Kinks Konvention fan gathering in London, noted, “It was great to spend time with you at The Kinks Konvention…and your never ending support continues to make me feel thankful to have you all. Looking onward to more music adventures in 2020.”
Guitarist Dave Davies, meanwhile, writes, “Happy holidays to everyone, thank you for your support the last year. Looking forward to 2020!”
Drummer Mick Avory adds, “To all our Loyal Kinks Fans, thank you for all your continued support [throughout] 2019, [it’s] much appreciated and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year.”
2019 saw The Kinks release a deluxe 50th anniversary reissue of their acclaimed 1969 concept album, Arthur (or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire). In addition, Ray and Dave both revealed this year that they’ve been trying to work on a new music project together that could possibly become the band’s first new album since their 1996 breakup.
