ABC/Image Group LAGreen Day is known for playing marathon concerts, but there are a number of songs from throughout the band’s wide discography that haven’t made it to the live stage. Well, we now know the reason why one track’s always been left of the set list.
In the comments of an Instagram post, a fan asked frontman Billie Joe Armstrong why the punk trio has never played the Insomniac cut, “Panic Song.” “That song is pure fire,” the fan wrote.
Armstrong then responded, “It’s too hard and I’m too lazy.” Fair enough!
If you’re an enterprising musician who’s perhaps not as lazy as Armstrong, you should maybe consider practicing “Panic Song,” as Billie has been filling his Instagram with videos of fan covers lately.
Meanwhile, Armstrong and Green Day are gearing up to release their new album, Father of All…, due out February 7. They’ll hit the road with Fall Out Boy and Weezer next summer on the Hella Mega tour.
