ACC Art BooksLongtime Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman has published a new limited-edition photo book titled Stones from the Inside: Rare and Unseen Images.

The book features more than 270 images that Wyman snapped during his long tenure with the British rock legends. Many of the photos capture the band members in candid moments while on tour — on stage, backstage, traveling between shows and more. The book also includes pictures of various celebrities and other music stars who crossed The Stones’ path, such as John Lennon, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.

Accompanying the photos, Wyman has penned commentary, anecdotes and recollections. The 83-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, who played with The Stones from 1962 to 1993, has been an avid photography buff since he was a child.

As he reveals in the introduction to Stones from the Inside, Bill began regularly photographing his band mates a few years after joining the group, “mainly to illustrate my daily diaries.”

Wyman goes on to explain, “I have been asked many times over the years, what I might have been if I hadn’t been a Rolling Stone for three decades. My reply was always that I would have loved to have been a curator at a museum, running a library or, best of all, taking up photography as a career. As none of these ever happened, I amused myself throughout my travels by taking photographs of the people around me.”

Only 300 copies of the limited-edition book have been produced. You can take a look at several pages of Stones from the Inside at ACCArtBooks.com.

Some of Wyman’s photos were featured in the recent documentary The Quiet One, which premiered earlier this year.
