On the cruise and at the stateside gigs, the 74-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will be accompanied by his 10,000 Light Years Band, with whom he’s been touring for the last couple years and who also is featured on his 2019 compilation B Yond — The Very Best Of.

With The Moody Blues on hiatus since late 2018, Lodge tells ABC Audio that he’s glad to keep the band’s music alive with his solo group.

“You know, all those years of playing bass parts on all the songs and all the vocals and everything else…it’s [an] integral part of my life,” he notes. “And the fans have come to…obviously love the music and the emotion of The Moody Blues, and I really want to keep that alive, as much as I can.”

As previously reported, this year’s Rock & Romance Cruise will set sail from Miami on February 15 and stop in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the island of Labadee before returning to port on February 22.

The nautical music fest’s lineup also includes Cheap Trick, ex-Eagles guitarist Don Felder, Randy Bachman, Todd Rundgren, Edgar Winter Band, former Chicago singer Jason Scheff, Jefferson Starship, Rita Coolidge, Ambrosia, Pablo Cruise and Stephen Bishop.

Lodge’s U.S. shows begin with five Florida dates kicking off February 22 in Dania Beach. The trek will visit Atlanta on February 29, then move on to venues in Maryland, Connecticut and New York before wrapping up March 8 in Lexington, Massachusetts.
