Courtesy of Rock & Roll Hall of FameThe 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony has joined the ever-growing list of major public events affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The ceremony, which was to have taken place May 2, at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, has been postponed and will be rescheduled for later this year.

Also postponed are the recently announced Induction Week festivities, which were supposed to be held at various Cleveland venues, including the Rock Hall museum itself.

A statement from the Rock Hall notes, “The health and safety of our fans and visitors is our highest priority,” adding that the decision was made to postpone the events “[g]iven recent news regarding coronavirus and the urging by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine regarding large public gatherings.”

The message also reports that details regarding tickets and the new dates for the ceremony and other Induction Week events “will be announced shortly,” as will information about the rescheduled live HBO broadcast of the ceremony.

This year’s Rock Hall inductees include The Doobie Brothers, T. Rex, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, the late Whitney Houston and late rapper The Notorious B.I.G.

Currently, the Rock Hall museum remains open and will maintain its usual operating hours.
