Credit: Austin LordAs people deal with daily anxiety as they shelter at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s good to see some of us keeping a sense of humor about the situation.

Peter Frampton has posted a video on his social media pages that pokes a little fun at the importance of thoroughly washing our hands to help curtail the virus’ spread.

In the clip, the guitar great sings the melody of his classic 1970s tune “Do You Feel Like We Do” as he walks into his kitchen and starts washing up at the sink. An extended live version of the song then begins to play, while a nearly 14-minute countdown clock appears in the corner of the screen and begins counting down.

The video and recording then speed up as Frampton scrubs away at his hands and forearms with an exasperated look on his face. As the song ends, he finally finishes his chore and dries his hands with some paper towels. Peter then picks up a digital music player that was next to his sink, but then realizes he needs to wash his hands all over again. As he turns on the faucet, we here Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s “Free Bird” begin to play, while a nine-minute counter appears in the corner of the screen.

Accompanying the video, Frampton has penned a message that reads, “Seriously, I know you’ve heard about how important it is to wash your hands right now. It’s REALLY important we keep doing it until we get rid of the COVID-19 virus. Be safe, well & please stay home.”

A U.K. and European leg of Frampton’s farewell tour is scheduled to begin May 24, but it could be postponed because of the coronavirus.
