Michelle Mustaine, sister of Megadeth frontman, has died

The Megadeth frontman revealed the news in a tweet Thursday night.

“My friends, I have sad news to share with you today,” he wrote. “My sister Michelle has passed away. I was truly lucky to have a sister like her. Rest in peace, my dear Michelle.”

No cause of death was given, but Michelle had battled leukemia in 2017.

Artists including Sebastian Bach and Megadeth’s Kiko Loureiro shared their condolences to the Mustaine family. Dave’s daughter Electra, with whom he just released a cover of The Beatles‘ “Come Together,” tweeted, “Rest in Peace Aunt Michelle!!”
