Credit: Paul BrownTours and festivals are getting canceled and postponed left and right in the days of COVID-19, but Tommy Lee remains optimistic about Mötley Crüe‘s upcoming reunion tour this summer.

In an interview with Billboard conducted April 1, Lee says that “everything’s still a go” with the run, which also includes Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts on the bill.

“We’re all in constant communication,” the drummer says. “[Bassist] Nikki [Sixx] and I have been in several production meetings.”

Lee’s also confident that people will be eager to go to live shows again in a post-pandemic world.

“By the time all this f***ing apocalyptic bulls*** is over, I think everyone’s going to be in a really good mood to go out and have the f***ing best time ever,” Lee says. “I really do. I hope everyone stays inside, and we can get a f***ing grip on this and get back to people having their normal lives.”

At the moment, Lee is most concerned about how to top his drum roller coaster stunt from the last Crüe tour.

“What am I supposed to do at this point?” he asks. “I literally have done the impossible — and all of it. Do I shoot myself out of a f***in’ cannon?”

The tour will be Mötley Crüe’s first since tearing up their “cessation of touring” agreement, which they signed in 2014 to legally prevent them from sharing the stage together again after one “final” trek. It kicks off June 18 in Jacksonville, Florida.
