A Bangor resident is filing a report against the city’s manager following an incident of assault involving a local citizen.
Video footage captured during the event shows City Manager and Police Chief Justin Weber approaching a man who was shouting.
Witness Steve Honeycutt reported that the incident occurred after the city’s regular board meeting on Monday evening, and the individual who was assaulted is the one seeking to press charges against Weber.
“Well as we’re walking outside, you know, we’re talking about, you know, this and that, and all of a sudden, you know, our big commotion,” Honeycutt says. “Turn around, Justin’s flying out of City Hall, chasing him down.”
According to Honeycutt, the conflict began during the public comment segment of the meeting.
WSJM has attempted to contact the Bangor city manager for a statement but has not yet received a response.
