“Look Twice. Save a Life.”

The Office of Highway Safety Planning reports 3,056 Michigan motorcycle crashes in 2023, with 165 being fatal. That’s why Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson wants drivers to stay alert and being aware of your surroundings.

Motorcyclists can be hard to see, so please look for them, especially when turning left at an intersection,” Benson said. “Look twice and save a life.”

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

Most crashes with motorcyclists happen on the weekends, which is why Benson says it’s important to keep a watchful eye to reduce the chance of tragedy.
