One of Michigan’s leading candidates for governor is out with a new book.

Inspiration for uncertain times is one of the themes in The Purposeful Warrior, a new book released this week by Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. She says she wanted to talk about other parts of her life, including her work in sports law and entertainment.

“I wanted to show through the plethora of voices that also include Hillary Clinton and Marie Schreiber that this book is not just about politics,” Benson said. “This book is about how we can inspire each other to be our best selves.”

Which explains the wide range of endorsements, from actor John Stamos to former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
