A few elections were held around Southwest Michigan Tuesday.

In Berrien County, Watervliet was the only community with anything to decide, but there were some important questions.

Watervliet Public Schools asked voters to approve a $13.5 million bond proposal for facilities improvements. The voters said yes, approving the bond on a 51% to 48% vote. The bond will not increase the net millage rate. Watervliet area voters also approved a renewal of the Watervliet Joint Fire Department Millage by a healthy margin.

In Van Buren County, Bangor voters selected Lynne Farmer as mayor. They also elected Renee Doroh and Amber Garcia to the city council.

Finally, voters in Bloomingdale Township rejected a road millage that would have raised about $489,000 in its first year.
