Two individuals were arrested Thursday evening in Dowagiac after an investigation led authorities to a home allegedly involved in methamphetamine distribution, according to a news release from the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team.

According to the statement, on Thursday at approximately 5 pm, detectives from the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team and the Michigan Department of Corrections executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Orchard Street. In the residence, investigators reported finding methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and additional evidence pointing to the distribution of the illegal substance.

A 44-year-old man was taken into custody on charges of maintaining a drug house and possession of methamphetamine. A 41-year-old woman was also arrested and faces a charge of methamphetamine possession.

Authorities have not released the names of the suspects, citing the pending arraignment process in Michigan’s 4th District Court.

The investigation remains active, with assistance provided by the Michigan Department of Corrections, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and the Dowagiac Police Department.

Officials did not release further details about the scope of the investigation or whether additional arrests are expected.
