What can we expect to pay for gas this summer?

Patrick Dehaan at Gas Buddy says prices should stay around $3 per gallon. However, he says that could also depend on what happens with trade and tariffs.

That is something that could hit oil and gas prices because much of the oil that’s refined in metro Detroit and areas like Toledo and Sarnia comes from Canada,” DeHaan said. “So keep an eye on that, but I’m not expecting any shocks in terms of pump prices right now. And I do think that most of the summer will probably some days be seeing prices below $3 and some days maybe a little bit slightly above the $3 mark, but it should be the lowest summer in the last few years.”

Dehaan says we could also see higher prices due to the summer blend of gasoline now required at gas stations in eight southeast Michigan counties.
