Set for July 12 is Celebrate Bridgman, an annual event for the community of Bridgman to mark its birthday.

Bridgman Community Growth Alliance Director Nancy Kiernan tells us it’ll be a whole day of activities throughout town, starting with a 1.1 Mile Fun Run. Then it continues.

We have a parade, which was very popular last year,” Kiernan said. “We’re bringing it back again this year. We have a 5K and 10K run in the first thing in the morning. We’re incorporating the Autos and Ales show at Haymarket Taproom. We have a great pop-up market at Transient Artisan Ales.”

There will also be a paint-by-numbers mural that everyone can work on so it can be displayed at the intersection of Lake Street and Red Arrow Highway. That work will take place in the Bridgman Courtyard.

Kiernan says the night entertainment is exciting many people because they’re bringing back the annual Street Dance.

It was not possible when COVID hit to have that type of a gathering, and we are bringing it back because everybody wants to bring back this event because they remember having such a great time. And it’s a very much a community event.”

People in Bridgman have joked the Street Dance is like a class, family, and community reunion each year. That’ll run from 5 to 11 at the city hall parking lot with the fire department cooking hot dogs and live music.

Everyone’s welcome to come help Bridgman celebrate 76 years of cityhood July 12.
