The summer season of the South Haven Performance Series will open this month with a concert by Majestic Brass of Grand Rapids.
South Haven Performance Series President Robert Linstrom tells us Majestic Brass is an octet featuring some of the finest players in west Michigan. Their members perform with the Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Chicago Symphonies and are on the faculty at Michigan State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, and Grand Valley State universities.
Lindstrom says the group’s performance will showcase the rich tradition of brass chamber music, and the June 20 concert will be the first performance of the Majestic Brass on the lakeshore.
The engagement will be held at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven on the 20th starting at 7 p.m., and tickets will be available at the door for $15.
There will be three additional concerts with the South Haven Performance Series in 2025, two this summer and one in December. Up next will be the Burdick-Thorne String Quartet at First United Methodist Church on July 18.
