A celebration is planned for this month to mark the completion of eight miles of trail along Red Arrow Highway in Berrien County as part of the Red Arrow Linear Trail.
The work has been going on for several years now with a goal of having a trail run alongside the road all the way from New Buffalo to Bridgman and points north.
On Saturday, June 28, Red Arrow Trail Day will be recognized in Chikaming Township and New Buffalo Township. Businesses throughout are invited to celebrate in their own unique ways and then tell the Friends of Berrien County Trails so they can help spread the word. Participating businesses will also be given a yard sign to put out front.
Red Arrow Trail Day comes one day after a ribbon cutting for part of the trail to be held at 10 a.m. at the corner of Red Arrow Highway and Lakeside Road in Chikaming Township. The Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to come and mark the occasion.
