The race to be Michigan’s next governor just got bigger.
In a video announcement, former Republican state Representative Tom Leonard has entered the race.
“Want to know why people keep moving out of Michigan? Because we’re 49th in unemployment and less than 4 in 10 kids can read,” Leonard said.
Leonard joins state Senator Aric Nesbitt, Congressman John James, former Attorney General Mike Cox, and truck driver Anthony Hudson.
The election is in November 2026.
