Covert Public Schools has entered into contract negotiations with the board of education’s pick to be the district’s next superintendent.

The board says it’s selected Joe Allen, the current principal of South Haven High School, to take over as the district’s leader.

The board says its search for a superintendent included multiple rounds of interviews, community engagement opportunities, and extensive deliberation. It’s decided Allen “best aligned with the district’s priorities, values, and vision for the future.”

The board welcomes him on as the new superintendent of Covert Public Schools once the contract is finished.
