Coming up this weekend is the 66th South Haven Juried Art Fair.
South Haven Center for the Arts Director Kerry Hagy tells us the event supports center activities year-round and brings in artists from all over.
“The South Haven Art Fair has 110 artists that come over from all over the country that will be showing their artwork, and they will be in their booths talking to visitors and talking about their process and their work and selling their work to our visitors,” Hagy said.
Hagy says they have several medium categories up for sale and display. They include paintings, ceramics, wood, jewelry, fiber, and glass. Plus, there will be a variety of activities for the whole family, like projects for the kids to try out with the South Haven Public Schools arts program.
“And then we also have a glass blower who will allow you to blow your own glass ornaments, which is really neat. And, glitter tattoos, a caricature chartist, just lots of fun stuff for the whole family. And then we also have food vendors.”
So, Hagy says anyone can make a whole day out of the art fair.
The event will be held at Stanley Johnston Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a shuttle taking people from North Shore Elementary to the park both days, all day, so attendees don’t have to struggle to find parking downtown.
Hagy says the South Haven Juried Art Fair last year attracted around 6,000 people to the park. Everyone’s welcome again this year.
