The city of South Haven is advising everyone that the Dyckman Bridge will not open for boat traffic Thursday night during the Light Up the Lake fireworks show.

The fireworks will take place at dusk, and the city says the last bridge opening will be at 9:30 p.m. Marine patrol units will then close the channel to boat traffic until after the show.

The fireworks are expected to start around 10:20 p.m. and continue through about 10:42.

The bridge will remain in the down position for pedestrians and cars for about a half hour after the show. Following the show, boat traffic is told it must follow the instructions of the marine units in the safety perimeter.

The first vessels to be allowed into the channel will be the Friends Good Will, the Sunsetter, and the Elsie J. After those charter vessels pass through, other marine traffic may proceed.

The bridge will be raised for all boat traffic around 11:15.
