The state of Michigan has some surplus land for sale and there will be auctions online in August and September.

Michael Michalek with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources says there are 120 pieces of land available.

We have acreages that go between less than a quarter acre all the way up to around 200 acres, and the prices fluctuate depending on the parcel and their situation,” Michalek said. “So the minimum asking price on some of the smaller ones can be as low as $300, and we have prices that go up over $100,000 with the starting bid.”

Michalek says there are some waterfront properties. Among the pieces of land available will be several in Allegan County.

Michalek says you can get more information at Michigan.gov/LandForSale.
