The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is investigating what it calls a suspicious death in Niles Township.

The department says deputies were dispatched to a home at 1950 South 13th Street in the Franklin Woods mobile home park around 1:15 p.m. Monday. They arrived to find 29-year-old Courtney Hershberger deceased inside.

A 33-year-old man from Indiana has been arrested and lodged at the Berrien County Jail on open murder and weapons charges in the case.

The name of the arrested individual hasn’t yet been released. The sheriff’s department says more information will be released at a later time.
