New wayfinding signs to direct visitors to key attractions around the city of St. Joseph have now been installed throughout the downtown area.
Speaking to city commissioners Monday, City Manager Emily Hackworth said after a couple years of planning, the signs have been printed and now everyone can see them around town.
“The wayfinding signs were installed over the last week or so,” Hackworth said. “They look lovely. It has really been a labor of love from so many folks who came around the table. We had this really great stakeholder group of probably 20 members.”
The city worked with Corbin Design Services in 2023 to create the signage, which can point visitors to attractions like Silver Beach, the Curious Kids Museum, and Pleasant Street Plaza. Hackworth said it’s nice to see the project come to fruition.
“They look great. So just want to celebrate that win. These things do not happen quickly, but they do happen. And it’s been really lovely to be able to drive by and see them and enjoy them.”
The signs can be seen around the downtown area. They have a beach theme on the back of them. They were manufactured by Valley City Sign Company of Comstock Park.
