Next Tuesday is an election day around Michigan, and in Van Buren County, voters in one community have some things to decide.

In South Haven, it’s time for primaries. Top among them is the race for mayor, which has three candidates. Mayor Annie Brown is being challenged by city council member Mary Hosley and Joshua Lemmer. The top two vote getters in the primary will go on to the November general election.

There are also primaries taking place for city council in Wards 1 and 2. In Ward 1, Samantha Kellum, Lisa Krupiarz, and Eddie Polk will all be on the ballot. In Ward 2, it’s Kent Brindley, Thomas Capps, and Todd Heinrich. As in the mayoral primary, the top two vote getters in each council primary will go on to the general election.

Anyone with questions about voting can contact the South Haven City Clerk.
