The city of South Haven is inviting everyone to its annual police Night Out celebration, set for Tuesday, August 5.

The National Night Out is a chance for police and other first responding agencies to meet with the residents they serve, have some food, play some games, and show off their equipment so everyone better understands the work they do.

In South Haven, the Night Out will be held at the Huron Street Pavilion from 5 to 7 p.m. on the 5th. The event will feature the South Haven Police Department, South Haven Area Emergency Services, and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department.

Attendees can expect free hotdogs and popsicles, displays of emergency response equipment, agency exhibits, and opportunities to learn about safety and local services.

As we’ve reported, there will be Night Out events throughout Southwest Michigan next Tuesday, with celebrations planned in St. Joseph Township, Benton Harbor, Berrien Springs, Buchanan, and Paw Paw.
