The steps of the Michigan Capitol were the setting for a rally for adult education Tuesday.
Members of the Michigan Adult, Community, and Alternative Education Association urged lawmakers to pass a state budget that includes funding for adult education. Association President Ted Kroll says there’s concern about funding with no budget in place yet.
“Waiting to September, October possibly, it’s going to put a lot more programs at question, of how they’re going to run, if they’re going to run, in terms of if they’re gonna run full staff, if they’re gonna kind of wait and see if funding comes out, if they’re gonna run as is and hope funding comes out,” Kroll said.
Adult education graduates, employers, and state lawmakers all spoke at the rally.
