Stress and anxiety. That’s what a lot of kids, and parents, are feeling now as school is set to begin. However, there are some ways to deal with it.
You may need to offer support to your kids if they’re feeling anxious about going to school. Craig Sharum is with Easterseals MORC and told us more.
“If the child does things a lot or constantly asks questions, that means that they’re thinking about it a lot, and they could use more resources and they may need to explore that a little bit more,” Sharum said.
Sharum says it would be good to help your child become familiar if they’re going to a new school by going to the school to see where their classes and locker are located. He says exercise, like taking a walk, is also a good way to alleviate stress.
Sharum adds parents feel stress too, and can use breathing exercises to help.
