A group of business leaders is laying out a plan for growth and prosperity in Michigan.

Economic Development Leaders for Michigan is an organization that has a vision for a stronger, more competitive state. It includes suggestions for business retention, community development, talent, and entrepreneurship. Board member Maureen Donahue-Krauss says part of it is attracting businesses.

We need a consistent business development program to really hit the sweet spot of projects, which are not the big mega projects, but the 25 to 100 job projects that are important, really, in every community,” Krauss said.

That’s why the group is calling on the state to adopt a performance-based, accountable, withholding tax incentive to support expansion.
