Kinexus has announced it’s undergoing a “strategic realignment” to streamline leadership and expand services.
The changes include new leadership at Michigan Works Berrien, Cass, Van Buren and the internal transfer of youth services from Michigan Works to Youth Solutions, a statewide organization. As part of that, Jennifer Deamud has been named the new Vice President of Workforce at Michigan Works. She tells us the changes being made won’t affect users of Kinexus services, other than perhaps making them more efficient.
“Individuals who would like assistance would still get the services the same way they have, which is one of our Michigan Work Service Centers, but there will always be an intentional focus on adding services provided by Youth Solutions,” Deamud said.
Deamud says programs like Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates will continue serving youth in Southwest Michigan, just now with more support from the statewide Youth Solutions.
“They have always been here, but with this realignment, they’re able to search more resources to our communities here.”
Deamud says all of the internal changes being made by Kinexus are part of a broader effort to align leadership, programming, and resources to deliver more streamlined services, reduce overlap, and focus on areas of highest community need.
Demund says the moves are not in response to funding issues as Kinexus has not been affected in any significant way by cuts. Regular users of Kinexus services aren’t expected to notice any disruption.
