The Berrien County Parks Department is planning a Recycling Collection event for Saturday, September 13 at Silver Beach County Park.
The department says Berrien County residents will be able to drop off hard foam or Styrofoam, electronics, household chemicals, batteries, and home medical waste to be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.
The department holds several community recycling events each year, collecting thousands of pounds of material. It’s free to recycle most items, with the exceptions being televisions and computer monitors. TVs come with a $20 free and monitors with a $10 fee.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be done drive-thru style.
