The village of Stevensville will begin construction on a pavilion at Hickory Creek Park in the spring.

The village announced this week on social media that Pearson Construction has been hired for the work, which will cost about $337,000.

The village in 2021 received a state grant of $150,000 for the pavilion project, which it then grew with a fundraising campaign that brought the amount available up to $230,000. The village will pay the rest of the project’s cost.

Village Manager Kacey Dominguez told us last year the village doesn’t currently have a facility like a pavilion that could be rented out for events. The new one being built will include picnic tables, a kitchen area, two ADA-approved restrooms, and ADA parking spaces.

Village leaders learned while drafting the current master plan that residents want a facility like this.
