
Authorities are investigating after an Amtrak train struck a pedestrian Wednesday night in Stevensville.
The collision involved the Amtrak train 370 Pere Marquette from Chicago to Grand Rapids. The incident happened near the intersection of the tracks and St. Joseph Avenue, close to the Stevensville Meijer. Emergency crews were called around 9 p.m.
Officials have not released any details about the pedestrian’s condition or whether the incident will affect train service today. Amtrak reports the train involved in the incident arrived at its next intended destination just over three hours behind schedule.
Officials say the investigation into what happened is ongoing.
