A school bus owned by Bloomingdale Public Schools has been recovered and returned to the district after it was stolen early Tuesday.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department tells us the bus was reported stolen around 6 a.m. It was later found by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department on the side of the road in Allegan County. The alleged culprit was also found and arrested.

The sheriff’s department says the suspect has no connection to Bloomingdale Public Schools. They remain in the Van Buren County Jail.

We’re told the bus was returned to the school district by around 11:30 a.m. and it has suffered no damage.
