The Bridgman Public Schools Board of Education has invited two candidates to come in for interviews for the position of superintendent.

Current Superintendent Shane Peters is retiring next June after 16 years with the district. The board has received eight applications for the job, and invited for interviews are Dr. Sarita Stevens, the deputy superintendent for the South Bend Community School Corporation, and Thomas Reed, the principal of Otsego High School.

Stevens will have her interview at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, while Reed’s interview will be at 6:30 p.m. the same day. Both interviews will be at Bridgman High School, and the public is encouraged to attend.

Bridgman Public Schools Board of Education President Eric Ramso says the board looks forward to learning more about the candidates’ abilities and attributes, as well as what each candidate has to offer students, staff, parents, and the community.
