A comedy special will be filmed next week at Watermark Brewing Company in Stevensville to raise money for a new series about beating scammers.

Sean Shank is a stand-up comedian and Lake Michigan College instructor who tells us comedian and podcaster Davin Rosenblatt is looking to turn his recurring segment on scamming scammers into something bigger.

He essentially wastes their time,” Shank said. “He gets anywhere from five to 30 scammers at any one time, and he keeps them busy. And he plays characters with them. He’s been an astronaut, a professional baseball player. He’s been a movie director.”

And Rosenblatt teaches the scammers a lesson by giving them the runaround.

Shank says next Friday and Saturday’s “Standing up to Scammers,” featuring Rosenblatt and himself, will raise funds for producing the new series. He says with the sheer preponderance of scams faced by Americans each day, everyone should support Davin’s quest to combat the criminals behind them. After all, anyone could fall for their scams.

It’s not because these people are stupid, it’s just because the scammers are that good and people can get desperate. So coming out and supporting this thing is supporting something that impacts all of us.”

Tickets are available now for both shows that will be filmed and edited into a special. Remember you might appear on camera if you’re in the crowd.
