A holiday music tradition returns to South Haven this month with a free concert from one of West Michigan’s top choral groups.

The South Haven Performance Series will present Vox GR on Sunday, December 21 at 4 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. The professionally trained ensemble, made up entirely of Michigan singers, will perform a winter-themed program titled “Northern Lights: Journey to the North.”

The Performance Series says the concert will feature traditional Christmas carols, African American spirituals, and selections in Latin, German and Tagalog, celebrating the beauty of nature and the season.

Led by artistic director Dr. Christopher Mason, Vox GR was recently named a second-place winner in the 2024 American Prize for Professional Choirs.

Admission to the South Haven performance will be free, with donations accepted for next year’s concert series.
