If you’re looking for a good, family friendly way to spend New Year’s Eve, how about heading to Baroda?

Round Barn Brewery founder Matt Moersch tells us he’s helping to organize a new event, the Countdown on First Street, with the intent of being fun for all ages. The celebration will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

All the hospitality businesses will be open,” Moersch said. “We’re going to have live ice carvings several times. We’ll have eight different sculptures. We’re going to have wagon rides provided by Fruitful Vine up and down the street. Each business has a special. We’re having a featured dinner, so is TJ’s.”

And they’ll have a bedazzled beer keg drop at 10 to mark the new year. That’s at 10 so people don’t have to stay up too late.

Moersch says this is all about attracting people to Baroda and injecting a little more life into the town.

“I had the idea to talk to our fellow entrepreneurs in Baroda and everyone was so excited to open their arms up for the community to come in, have a good New Year’s and safely and also have some things to look at.”

Round Barn itself will be holding “Brew Year’s Eve” that night, featuring fire pits and music, culminating in the keg drop. That’s meant to simulate a New Year’s Eve ball drop, and it’s been made possible by Bennit Construction.

Moersch invites everyone to head to Baroda to ring in the new year.
