Fourth District Democratic congressional candidate Jessica Swartz has ended her campaign.

The Kalamazoo attorney says she will instead now run for the Michigan House in the 41st District. Swartz had been running for the seat now occupied by Congressman Bill Huizenga.

Swartz says, “After thoughtful conversations with my family and supporters, I have decided that the best way for me to continue serving our community is to build on the strong representation we’ve had here in Michigan’s 41st State House District.” She added she hopes to flip the State House from red to blue.

The 41st District covers part of Kalamazoo County.
