Interim Berrien County Administrator Michael Sepic is settling into the job of managing the county’s day-to-day affairs while the board of commissioners prepares to begin a search for former Administrator Brian Dissette’s permanent replacement.

Speaking to commissioners Thursday, Sepic said he’s up to the challenge.

While I was originally entering into this endeavor with the thought of, quote, staying the course, there obviously are things coming up that can’t be simply stayed but have to be dealt with,” Sepic said.

Sepic said those issues include work with the county’s broadband committee, BC Bit, which is working to finalize some grants to further roll out broadband to unserved households. He added he’s been meeting with department heads and working to resolve issues that can’t be delayed.

Commissioners said on Thursday a resolution to formally search for Dissette’s replacement will be coming to the full board soon.
