
A South Haven business is heavily damaged after a fire Thursday morning. was extensively damaged by fire on Thursday morning.
South Haven Area Emergency Services says it responded to a report of a structure fire at the A&D One Stop, at 883 Indiana Avenue, at 8:20 a.m. A&D One Stop is a neighborhood convenience store that has been located at the southside location for several years.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the attic. A second alarm brought Bangor Community and Covert Township firefighters to the scene.
The business was not open at the time. The owner reported being in the building about 30 minutes before the alarm.
A nearby attached short-term-rental suffered smoke damage, but was saved from the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The South Haven Police Department and South Haven Board of Public Works assisted at the scene.
