The Berrien Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the Wood Family Summer Arts Scholarships, offering financial support to high school students looking to pursue summer programs in the arts.

The BCF says the scholarship, established by Jill and Doug Wood, will award up to two grants of $1,500 to help cover the cost of camps, intensives, and other training in areas like music, dance, visual arts, and theater.

In some cases, both awards may go to one student attending a higher-cost program. Eligible applicants include Berrien County students entering grades 9 through 12 this fall, with applications due April 30.

Foundation President Lisa Cripps-Downey says the scholarship reflects the Wood family’s passion for the arts and their commitment to helping Berrien County students grow creatively.

Cole Dalton, a Lakeshore High School student, received the inaugural Wood Family Summer Arts Scholarship last year. He says the funding helped make a life-changing experience possible, allowing him to attend a prestigious music program at Interlochen.

Students can find more information and apply online through the Berrien Community Foundation website.
