Lincoln Township Manager Kacey Dominguez has turned in her resignation, according to one township trustee.
Dominguez has been on the job since January after being hired in December of last year.
After unsuccessful attempts by WSJM News to reach Lincoln Township Supervisor Glenn Youngstedt regarding Dominguez this week, Trustee Marc Florian tells us via email it’s his understanding she’s tendered a letter of resignation. Florian says it’s regrettable, adding, “It is my sincere hope, however, that she will reconsider.” Florian added, “Bringing about organizational change in the context of a local unit of government is a challenging task.”
Dominguez is the second manager hired for Lincoln Township after the board of trustees moved in 2024 to adopt the management structure of government, switching from the previous model in which the elected supervisor handled daily operations.
The reported resignation of Dominguez comes nearly two weeks after trustees voted to extend Fire Chief Brandon Chiarello’s suspension to one month due to remarks he reportedly made about the manager. The remarks were related to a plan to expand the fire department to full-time, which Dominguez had said was being scaled back. However, it’s not clear if the reported resignation is related to that matter.
Prior to being hired by Lincoln Township, Dominguez was the manager for the village of Stevensville.
