Fall begins the night of September 22, but it’s not the date hunters have circled on their calendars. The first deer hunting seasons are less than two weeks away.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says it all starts Saturday, September 12, with the Liberty Hunt for qualified youth and hunters with disabilities. Early antlerless firearms season also starts September 12 on open public and private lands in the Lower Peninsula.
Other dates around the corner early segment archery on October 1 through the 14th, independence hunt is October 15 through the 18th, and regular firearm season starts statewide November 15.
Earlier this year, the DNR released several deer regulation changes for this and next hunting season, so you should go over those before you head out.
